Alpine Eagles Lacrosse was formed in the fall of 2007 by a group of parents whose kids were crazy for the game, but whose only opportunity to play in East County was on a team in Casa de Oro. Our goal was to introduce the fastest game on two feet to kids in Alpine and East County, and to prepare players for high school lacrosse. Coach Jeff McDade of Granite Hills encouraged Alpine parents to form a team for years, and in 2007 Alpine Lacrosse began. Coach McDade provided our team with helmets, jerseys, contacts for coaching and training clinics in order to get everything started. For the next two formative years, the Alpine team was made up of 90% players who had never played, let alone seen the game of Lacrosse, and 10% who had skills with their sticks.
With the help of dedicated coaches and supportive parents, our Alpine team grew and mastered the skills of the game to take on teams all across San Diego County. Alpine Eagles Lacrosse is now recognized in the San Diego County Lacrosse Association (www.sdcla.org) as one of the strong programs in East County.
Alpine Eagles Lacrosse has served as a feeder program to Granite Hills High School for many years. We are excited that our teams continue to produce players for our local high schools. We have players that come from Alpine, Pine Valley, Campo, Lakeside and other areas around east county. If you are interested in playing Lacrosse, then we are interested in having you join us this coming year.
GO Eagles !!!!
